You don’t have to travel to Italy to savor the country’s most popular sandwiches. Pressed between two grill plates, our paninis meld into the perfect union of gooey cheese, savory meats, and crispy bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 2 ciabatta rolls cut in half OR 4 slices 1/2-inch thick sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 slices deli ham
  • 4 slices Italian salami
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • Softened butter for spreading

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat Sandwich Pro until green light comes on. Spread mayo on insides of bread. Layer each sandwich with 1 slice of Provolone, 2 slices ham, 2 slices salami, 4 basil leaves, and another slice of Provolone. Lightly butter outside of sandwiches.
  2. Place sandwiches in pre-heated Sandwich Pro. Close lid and light will turn to red while sandwich cooks. Cook sandwiches until green light comes on or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted.
  3. Carefully remove sandwiches from maker with a wooden or silicone spatula. Let sandwiches rest a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

Our Italian panini recipe is endlessly versatile. Try swapping Provolone for fresh mozzarella, trade salami for pepperoni, or use mustard or Italian dressing in place of mayonnaise. Delicious—any way you slice it.
