Mixed Berry Ice Cream

Use that summer bounty of fresh berries or grab a bag of frozen berries; either way, make this when you want to savor the sweetness of berries and summer all year long.

Mixed Berry Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh mixed berries such as strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, washed and drained (if using frozen berries, thaw first)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Preparation Instructions

  1. Combine the berries, sugar and milk in the carafe of a blender and blend on high until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a medium mixing bowl. Whisk in the cream, vanilla and salt.
  2. Pour the mixture into the GreenPan Frost mixing bowl and cover with the mixing bowl cover.
  3. Select the Soft Ice Cream mode, L4. Churn until it turns to Cool and beeps.
  4. Serve immediately or extrude into an airtight container and freeze.
